About Me
Sr Mary Corkeron grew up in Goulburn and entered the Sisters of Mercy at the tender age of 18. She was a Primary School teacher and for many years was the Religious Education Coordinator (REC) in schools where she taught: Boorowa, Tumut, Junee, Cootamundra and Yass. Her other studies include Pastoral Studies at Catholic University in Glebe and All Hallows in Dublin. These opportunities gave her the foundation for her involvement in parishes where currently she is Pastoral Associate at St Matthew's Page and St Gregory's Queanbeyan.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, since the early 80s, has always been Sr Mary's passion. As the Archdiocesan coordinator, she is the point of contact for adults inquiring about the Catholic Faith and coordinates the Cathedral rituals when candidates and catechumens meet with Archbishop Mark for the Rite of Enrolment and Paschaul Eucharist.
